Celebration Closing & New Beginning: PCCR 2025 / RCC 2026

22 February 2026 was a special day for our club.

In Rotterdam, members, players and volunteers came together to celebrate the achievements of the 2025 season, while also marking an exciting new beginning.

The evening officially opened with the announcement that Punjab Ghausia Cricket Club Rotterdam  (PCCR) will now move forward under the new name Rotterdam Cricket Club (RCC). This rebranding marks more than just a name change; it symbolizes growth, ambition, and a renewed vision for the future.

Celebrating the achievements of 2025

One of the highlights of the evening was the championship of PCCR 2 in the Eerste Klasse. After a strong and consistent season, the team crowned themselves champions and secured promotion to the Hoofdklasse for the 2026 season. This is a major step forward for the club’s sporting structure and depth.

To put this into perspective: in 2025, both PCCR 2 and PCCR 3 were competing in the Eerste Klasse. With PCCR 2 now promoted, the structure for 2026 looks even stronger: RCC 1 competing in the Topklasse, RCC 2 competing in the Hoofdklasse and RCC 3 competing in the Eerste Klasse. This means that Rotterdam Cricket Club will be represented across the three highest competitive levels of Dutch cricket this season.

The future of the club looks equally bright for our youth. Our Youth U15 team were also crowned champions in 2025, an incredible achievement that deserves special recognition. A big applause for our U15 boys. Your hard work, passion, and commitment have made the entire club proud. You are not only champions of today, but a big part of the future of RCC.

Vision for sustainable growth

A detailed presentation during the evening outlined the club’s ambitions, including its long-term development strategy, focus on youth progression, strengthening of senior squads, structured training programs, and community involvement.

The message was clear: RCC is building a strong and sustainable pathway from junior cricket to the senior teams.

Following the presentation, awards were presented to all teams from the 2025 season, starting with the junior champions and concluding with the senior sides. The evening celebrated not only on-field performances but also the invaluable contributions of volunteers, coaches, and dedicated members behind the scenes.

Our national players Saqib Zulfiqar and Sikander Zulfiqar delivered inspiring speeches and personally handed out special awards and tokens of appreciation to standout players and key contributors. Their presence underlined the strong connection between elite cricket and the club’s grassroots foundation.

The evening concluded with a delicious dinner and enjoyable socializing, bringing members together in celebration of both past success and a promising future.
